A recent study saw a machine learning algorithm, which had learned from the thousands of legal documents, compete against 20 expert human lawyers. Both competitors were given 5 nondisclosure agreements to review for risks. On average, the lawyers took 92 minutes to complete the tasks and were 85% accurate. On the other hand, the AI took only 26 seconds and had a 94% accuracy rate. With this potential, AI is thought to be used for these menial tasks to save time and money, but lawyers will sill be needed for the more challenging roles.
